ASSESSMENT PLAN JUSTIFICATION

My assessment plan includes three types of assessment: diagnostic (to identify needs and determine prior knowledge of my students before the learning process asuch starts), formative ( during the learning process to be informed of how they are progressing) and summative assessment( to check at the end of the unit what knowledge has  the student really acquired).

Formative assessments allow me to modify my teaching on the spot if my students aren’t understanding the content. Some examples of formative assessments I use are: Daily warm-ups
, small group discussion and pair work.

The different activities have been assessed by different agents in different moments of the learning process: the teacher, other teachers of the level, other students and the student him/herself.
The teacher has also assessed the teaching practice.
Group and pair work is present, as well as individual work, and the students are made conscious of their learning process through the self-evaluation.

Different ways of learning are observed thanks to a variety of activities ( computers, investigation, report, etc.)

LESSON TWO DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT A.   In groups they fill in the following table about vertebrate animals. The teacher gives each group a picture with a different animal. The students will have to try and complete the blank part of the photocopy with the information about the animal the teacher gave them. FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT A.   The teacher provides the students with different books about animals from the school´s library. Then, the students are given a quiz to fill in. They can use the books provided to look for the answers and work in pairs.

LESSON EIGHT A.     The teacher analyses the main difficulties that the students found when doing the test and give them some feedback. B.      The teacher assesses his/her own work f ollowing the following guidelines: TEACHING PRACTICE Performance level 1 Performance level 2 Performance level 3 Performance level 4 Lessons are planned from the students´initial level of knowledge. Lessons are planned to meet the diversity of learning styles, levels, interests and skills in the class. All the elements of the Curriculum are observed.
